Making Homemade Ice Cream (Lakeside Chats 7-22-20)

We are already in the midst of summer – it’s hard to believe! Since it was National Ice Cream Day on July 19th, we figured we would have a little fun and make some ourselves!

Please join us for some fun and bring your sweet tooth! Adam will attempt to make homemade ice cream and would love for you to follow along and make it.

If you’re up for the challenge, you’ll want to have the following within easy reach during the zoom meeting:

  • Half n’ half (or your choice of milk)
  • Granulated sugar
  • Vanilla extract
  • Salt (any type)
  • Ice cubes
  • Resealable bags (1 large & 1 small)
  • Strawberries (if you’re feeling adventurous)

This ice cream “experiment” only takes about 15 minutes to make (and even less to enjoy the result).

Our Lakeside Chats were started in Spring 2020 to help us feel more connected. Think casual conversation about a wide range of topics. Imagine an online video version of a regular backyard (or front porch) get-together with friends and neighbors. For each Lakeside Chat, a different guest leads the conversation about their area of expertise, their passionate hobby.
